From shadow to light

“Everything begins with a judicious mixture of binders and pigments deposited on the canvas, inviting the paper to smooth itself out as if at random, revealed here and there in filigree by the play of transparencies and opacities. The paper responds to the painter who bends distortions, folds, natural stretches and ordered movements, leaving the texts with a muzzle, dotted or liberated speech and that, in an inverted declination, guesses, sweats or leads the gaze in a recreational reading or select. The words in a new medium and here intermixed throb in the ocher that the painter makes sing, because Pizon is a musician of the land whom he orchestrates with a worn brush, a palette, the fingers or the palm that caresses its waves and deep vibrations. With all this in the preamble, Pizon appropriates the space that he dedicates to the subject. As a lover of the earth, he asks for materials transformed by human hands that they divert and transpose onto the canvas: photos, drawings, cardboard boxes or metals are inscribed here and there, but never in disorder. Pizon writes his work in a refined spatial harmony, built on accepted and domesticated opportunities, where the light never faces the night without being invited to it. In this combined set, Pizon associates rust with sublimated colors, iron in the inviting theme, and the muted shine of zinc to model a "little one" that he would have chosen ...
